Zune HD - Our Reviews Coming Soon

As I type this, I'm listening to an old favorite on my new Zune HD.  This baby is fascinating on multiple levels - most of which, of course, we'll try to discuss here.

I have no desire to give you a full "review" at this point because it simply wouldn't be a full review.  As you know, here at ZuneLuv.com, we deconstruct the Zune as much as anything else and since I've only had this thing for about 90 minutes, … not much to give you yet.

But, I'll tell you this - it's a gorgeous experience.  The cloud approach to music enabled by this thing will change music - perhaps even more so than what iTunes has done.  Yes, you read me right.  More on that later.

Here are a few reviews from some of our favorites and an embed of an unboxing video I was able to do a few days ago (had the device, but couldn't make it work until the software update this morning).

  • I wish that Microsoft would "Wake up", like Apple has. I have NO apple products, but I watch as they create NEW innovations all of the time. Look at the new Ipad magnetic cover. Very smart! Their ipod 2 "Clips on to your shirt! Apple has Thousands of APPS, we have what, 12? We don't have a notepad. We don't have a calendar. We don't have the "common sense" tools that we need. Where do I put my new "HD" when I go out? just drop it in my pocket? Come on Microsoft, Wake up!

  • Why didn't microsoft put a strap on the new Zune HD. There is NO protection against accidental dropping.
  • I have to agree with you on this note. Every single difference you just spoke of, is the very reason I'm going to get a zune instead of a touch.

    There is one more ace up Microsoft's sleeve when it comes to the Zune HD's video capabilities. If you have an extra $89 to spend on a Zune AV Dock, the Zune HD will output high-definition (720p) video to your TV via an HDMI connection (composite output is also available).

  • Oh man. I am super excited about the Zune HD and the software, I'm just saying the HD ain't for me. :) Not with all the other Zunes I have already. Give me a 128GB Flash Zune HD and I change my tune.
