iPod Refresh And Pricing - Will It Hurt Zune HD?

So, some interesting news from Apple.  Gdgt did the best coverage of the event, so we'll recommend you get the details there.

Three points worth mentioning.

iPod Touch Pricing no longer makes Zune HD "cheaper." Apple apparently doesn't want pricing to be an issue.

iPod Nano includes a video camera.  Very odd that they didn't put it on the iPod Touch.  Should be pretty obvious that they're worried about hurting iPhone sales.

No HD video announcements.  Looks like Zune HD will be the only player (at the moment) that does HD video out.

Nothing really that impressive at all - and Apple usually impresses.

Will any of these announcements affect Zune HD's launch in any way?

I don't think that the Zune HD sales will be affected much by this, but the full story isn't known yet. As they say, there are some "known unknowns." We know everything about the new ipod touch, and there really isn't that much different than what was available last week. However, we still don't know everything about the Zune HD. We know it has a menu for Apps, but what are the details? Unknown. In their Windows Weekly podcast, Paul Thurrott and Leo Laporte both comment that they were in meetings about the Zune HD in which exciting details were announced, but because of the NDA, they can't really talk about it. We'll just have to wait and see.
Personally, I was considering buying the Zune HD, but then when rumors of an iPod touch with a camera built in came out, I was all in for that. Now that the rumor was just that, I have to say the Zune HD is perfect. 16gb is the right size, and $220 is the right price. Maybe I'm just feeling too much Apple-overload and really am just looking for a decent alternative, but I really think the Zune HD is going to be a hit.
