The Worldwide Zune (or soon to be)

Was browsing through some archives today, and ran across an article that might help mesh what Microsoft is doing with the Zune. Currently the Zune is available only in North America. Expect sometime this year more of a mention of the Zune being available in Europe.

Microsoft is gearing up for a worldwide release of the Zune 3 in 2009, according to reports. The Zune is currently only sold in North America, but according to Les Echos, Microsoft France's director Francois Ruault says that will change with the worldwide release of Zune 3 in 2009.

I wonder how this will affect the global market now. Will it take a larger chunk of the market in Europe and other places? I am looking forward as to how this will play out.
