The Downfall of the Zune 30

What killed the Zune 30? It was so popular until this one thing happened. What was that one thing? The dreaded Z2K. The day the Zune 30 had a meltdown. It was December 31, 2008. If you started up your player that day, you would have noticed it booted up fine, then froze. Turns out the problem was with the software's clock driver. It improperly handed the 2008 leap year, thus freezing the device.

Don't worry, there was a solution to it. All you had to do was drain the battery and recharge it after midday on Jan. 1, 2009. I can hear you asking the question, "Well why didn't all the other zunes crash as well?" The reason why is because the driver was made just for the zune 30, the other devices worked fine. (Hmm, that might be why I didn't notice a problem with my 4GB Zune that day…)

Technology, works when you want it to eh?
