Windows Mobile 6.5 with a Zune twist
Today is the Mobile World Congress. This is usually where you can find Sony, Microsoft, and other well known companies flexing their new phone designs to the world. Microsoft is no exception. Today, they showed off Windows Mobile 6.5, which is packed with new features over the current 6.1 version. But I thought this was about the Zune, not Windows Mobile?… It is, here's the twist.
"But unlike the relatively minor changes that we saw made over the last three versions of the OS, 6.5 at least has addressed some of the Windows Mobile Professional edition's shortcomings when it comes to using a finger instead of a stylus with a touchscreen. The new Zune like Today screen gives users larger target zones with real-time updating information and swipe gesture support, and the honeycomb look of the Start menu and submenus make it much easier for users to accurately indicate what they are trying to select than was possible on past versions of the OS. These updates will not be available on the Standard version of the platform, though, since Standard edition received its own Home screen update with 6.1 and would not benefit from the honeycomb menus."
Did I hear right? The home screen now looks more like the Zune? So that's what they were working up when half of the department moved over.

Pretty neat I do have to say. Always liked the Zune interface when I picked up my zune. What do you think about this?
