Will there ever be the ability to play Audible books? I love my recorded books and had to buy a 2 gig Sansa to play them.

actually firmware 2.5 makes the Zune compatible with XNA framework and until you make your first game and ship it to your Zune via Visual C # 2008 you will see no menu pertaining to Zune games. If you were an actual Microsoft fanboy youd know that. But you should stop complaining about what you dont have and be happy about what you do have. And as for video, something is definitely better than nothing because you have a choice, you dont have to download anything at all, so get over it and keep you mumbling to yourself Ace1tk

I have just updated my software to this and have lost my zune market place function for some unknown reason.

YOU (or me) PAY Microsoft for a product with functionality, NOT a brick. So, that said, any purchaser of the zune should be able to complain about its pathetic abilities (including me). (Would be even GREATER if M$ actually tried to make something GOOD every once in a while instead of trying to keep all of their hardware’s capability's to a minimum. Completely ridiculous imo….)

And Amb remind me as to how your purchasing a brick as opposed to hardware with functionality. The Zune is by far the best media player to date. If you want to complain about that than just switch over to Apple Ipod im sure they could use another tool in there what 100's of thousands of ipod users. People with Zunes want something different and the Zune doesnt want to be like an ipod which is why they've taken a different direction at microsoft. And like i said you have a choice. You buy a Zune and take things as they come or you get an ipod and become a tool. I'm a 1st and 2nd gen owner and I'm proud to have a Zune. and I've never bricked a Zune

Something that should be understood, my life and hobby is professional audio. This including, Live Sound, Recording, and Mixing. Therefore, everything to me is about quality (Sound quality). When I got my 2nd gen 80g Zune, I was thrilled. But, I almost cried after I synced it and named it. I turned it on, browsed for some music, went to go and change the EQ… Wait…. I thought the EQ was under the music settings?! WTH!? ….

OH and BTW.. This is not mentioning M$'s over looking of the NON-M$ users (or even some that ARE M$ users). "Hey! You wanna put some music on your brand new fantastic Zune?! OK! FIRST, you have to install the software!" ~>:| "OH AND BY THE WAY! WINDOWS MEDIA CENTER 2004 IS UNSUPPORTED!!! You will have to go and spend $150 MORE to go and get an update to 2005!" OH THANKS M$! I really appreciate you for looking out for us people that are completely MADE of money!

I was furious…. But after poking around for about 5 hour's or so… I found that WinRar could extract both the WM11 and ZUNE installers, and was able to install JUST the ".msi" packages necessary.
(may have gotten carried away? sorry…)

all that I have to say about my Zune is that I am disappointed… =/

I would like you to know that I DO agree with you (about apple and there "AMAZING" iPod’s). I have used them on several occasions, and never been satisfied. EVER. Everybody just buys one because they are SEVERELY overpriced. and if you can afford 8g, you are automatically "cool". I wanted something different, something that no one had (except for my friends of course).

Really, my biggest complaint is the EQ. This probably seems like NOTHING to you (and most people). I will never understand WHY they would REMOVE functionality. But, what do I know? Never mad… just disappointed… =(

Its cool, NP, i understand where youre coming from and the EQ is under settings> music. Dont know if that helps much. I didnt mean to argue or get angry i just get frustrated when people criticize Zunes. Like they have nothing better to do than to criticize MS. but anyway, If you've downloaded the firmware 2.5 and go to www.creators.xna.com you can download the XNA 3.0 CTP and begin developing games or download your own, i currently have 2 games deployed to my Zune

That really is awesome. I wont have a chance to download that for a while. BUT, was just curious on how you sync the games to your zune?

The website looks easy enough to use, and i will probably be able to figure most of it out. but i was JW.

Really about Zune games, they are there (as stated before), you just have to know what you're doing to get them. As of now I have 6 games on my Zune, the menu selection is there, and they work fine (only downside is that it reboots every single time you're done playing, but it's not really a huge issue).

If you want people to keep coming here for facts, I would say to do a little research before posting your articles.

Sorry buddy but it really is simple Zune 2.5 out of the box doesn't do games - you gotta run the XNA stuff to do that.

Lot of people with less knowledge then you thought when they booted up they'd see some new games.

Me too!. I even reinstalled zune and still no "marketplace" tab. It is fine on my laptop running XP though.

Thanks for the pointers, I have looked at the XNA site and it looks like I will be learning how to make games for my zune!

Or if someone could maybe tell me where people have already made beta's available… that would be great also…
