Zune 2.3 Firmware Includes Great Podcast Support

The Zune 2.3 firmware upgrade brought some very cool Podcasting features that, simply, aren't getting enough attention.

As mentioned in Zune-Online, subscribe and unsubscribe options are now made available with all Podcast files.

How does this work? It's fabulous.

If someone shares a Podcast with you and you like what you hear, you can subscribe to the Podcast right within the Zune device. The next time you sync up your device with the player, you will be subscribed to that content.

And the converse is true as well. If you don't like what you've got, you can unsubscribe from the device too.

Great job Zune team. This device continues to get better and impress us more and more.

Podcast support is great on the Zune, and I use these features heavily.

The fact that they have such tight integration with the Zune software (Podcast subscription strait on the device, ratings strait on the device) is great, but it needs more.

For instance, why can't we delete music off the device with a click of the center button? If someone sends me a track and I don't like it, I don't want it popping up when I listen to all music, I want to delete it right away.

Also, for the Zune Social user, we need to be able to select, delete, and manage favorites on the device, this sort of thing would be unbelievable easy for MS to implement, but still, great device.

Keep it up MS,

Love my Zune, went from a Zune30 to a Zune120 and it was a great upgrage. I really love the Podcast feature but… eventhough Zune.net indicates a Feedback option but I have not found it. Podcasters will continue to push "subscribe to our Podcast on iTunes" simply for that reason.
