Zune Software Rips MP3 Files (Fast Too)

We here at Zuneluv Central couldn’t be more thrilled that the new Zune Software supports the ripping of your CD content to the MP3 file format. Yes, Microsoft’s WMA is the default choice (and I’m sure recommended) for ripping audio files, but you can rip music in the Zune software and no that you’ll be able to use it in “other” systems if you ever move one day.

Of course the question at this point would be why would you ever want to move?

The ripping process is also quite fast. We haven’t done a side by side comparison with iTunes yet but I don’t ever see a day when I use “another” program just because of speed.
