Zune 2 - No Audible

Sadly Audible seems to be less and less important as the days go by. They were the original providers of high quality time-shifted portable media and for that we owe them a debt of thanks.

But as with Zune 1, there will be no Audible support for Zune 2 (and this comes from our inside man at Zune, so, trust us, it ain't a rumor). There is promised support for "audio book Podcasts" however.

Is that something we'll see in Zune's future. Don't know and haven't heard yet.

I used to be pretty bummed about no Audible support either but now that emusic.com offers audiobooks that are DRM-free it's no longer a big deal. Sure, the selection isn't as big but at least I'm not at the mercy of Audible telling me which players I can and can't use.

I just picked up "Indecision" on emusic, pretty great listen.
