Does Zune 2 Support Divx?
Lots of inquiring minds want to know if the Zune 2 will support Divx?
Will it support it natively on the player? What about the software? Will the Zune software transcode Divx content so it can be played on the Zune?
We're sorry to answer this one with a "no" but the facts are facts.
We'd also like to take this chance to point out that the iPod doesn't either.
Take out advice and focus on the H.264 codec. This format is thin, looks great, and works on all of the serious media players out there. In addition, the coming support for H.264 in Flash means that it will be a popular option online as well.

I was surprised by this. Now that MS is supporting Divx/Xvid on its Media Center Extenders (and potentially the 360's soon), I thought there would be native support for the new Zunes. Too bad. That support would be killer on a Zune.
I guess we can always hope for some future firmware upgrade.
Xbox 360 Fall 2007 update added support for Divx and Xvid.
Hey, if you want to watch divx videos on the zune, just put them in windows movie maker and publish them as WMV, then put them in the zune software.
