Thoughts On The Zune Price Drop

Cesar reports the official party line on the Zune price drop and the 'sphere goes crazy with conspiracy theories, etc. Personally, I'm not sure how anyone is surprised with this announcement, what with the Zune on Woot thing a few weeks back.

Funny thing is this - the Zune is almost a year old. "Others" out there are heralded when they make updates/changes (is Apple doing something today ;-)) but when Microsoft gets ready for v2 (and it is coming, folk), all signs point to a "sinking ship?"

I will be very curious to see what happens in the v2 release in terms of functionality, etc. I don't care a bit if it looks shiny and holds more songs, I WANT MY PODCAST INTEGRATION and I want the desktop software to, well, just work better.

Apple will announce some things today. It will be interesting - although, let's face it, pretty predictable.

What's coming next from Zune, now that is what interests me …
