What Can I Do With The Wifi On My Zune?

You'd think that Zune Wifi would let you do a lot of cool things. At this point in Zune's history you'd be wrong.

At this point, as of today, the only thing you can do with the Zune wifi is share SOME music files between Zunes. We say SOME music files because some music purchased from the Zune Marketplace prevents you from sharing the songs wirelessly.

Would it be that far out to hope / think / pray that one day we would be able to access Network Access Points with our Zune Wifi? Would a Podcatcher inside of the Zune that let you grabbed content from free access points be the "iPod Killer" Microsoft was looking for?

We believe that answer is yes.

But until we can do something else with our Zune Wifi, we can only but dream.

what can you do with a zune?

I just got my zune today and update the firmware to the 2.2, and I am thinking the same thing. I was able to sync my zune via wireless. It first connected to my router, found my computer, then started to sync. Now it seems that a firmware hack would easily let you gain access to a router to optain the wep or wpa encryption. The reason I say this is because it conected to my wpa encrypted network without me having to put in the password.
