The 7 "Real" Reasons No Podcasting In Zune v1
Here at ZuneLuv.com we offer, because nobody else will, the 7 "real" reasons there is no Podcasting in Zune v1.
7. Cansei De Ser Sexy don't got a Podcast - so it's not like Podcasts are really big with the kids anyway.
6. If Podcasts worked on Zunes, they'd call them Zunecasts people.
5. Those Orange RSS buttons clash with the Brown Zune something fierce.
4. We're not done with the Video Podcast export features in Windows Movie Maker yet. If they can't make Video Podcasts, how are they going to watch them?
3. We do that and, bam, we're gonna have to answer that damn "why isn't Microsoft Podcasting?" question again.
2. If social media was still important, Scoble would still be working for us.
And, of course, the real reason we aren't seeing Podcasting on Zune v1 …
1. If we include everything in v1, how are we going to get them to upgrade to v2?
As always, our apologies to Dave.

Ha nice list. I suggest here that your reasons 6, 4 and 3 may be caused by the same root cause: that 'podcast' is the dumb name that came to define the act of syndicating audio and video via RSS. Maybe this innacurate term (the majority of podcasts never make it to Apple's iPods - most are consumed on the desktop) slows Apple's competitors from playing as nice as they may otherwise play. Maybe?
[...] And no podcasting support at launch? How am I supposed to watch Ask a Ninja over my lunch break? Let's pray for a firmware upgrade ASAP. Or are you afraid Apple will sue you for using the name "pod" in that feature? [...]
