Scoble, Zune Ain't for Podcasting …

Robert Scoble writes (in reference to Zune),

Just tell me the format I need to encode my videos in so that folks who have a new Zune can load my lame stuff up.

Robert, … I hate to break this to you … but there is nothing, anywhere, in Zune for content producers who aren't on MTV. There is no Podcasting support, no nothing. Redmond, for all sakes an purposes, still won't even admit the thing exists. It ain't gonna be easy to get stuff on that machine.

I'm sure you could hack a 6 point instruction sheet together, but once it takes longer to put your stuff on the Zune than it would be to watch it online … you've lost the opportunity.

This is a product for the "kids" and the "kids" aren't listening to Podcasts, they really like that Justin Timberlake feller who rips shirts off of Jackson girls.

Prove me wrong … anyone …

[...] Microsoft hopes to take on the iPod with its Zune player. But Zune will not include any podcasting features. Now there's a blog dedicated to getting this omission put right. Perhaps Microsoft just shies away from anything with the word "pod" in it. podcasting [...]

[...] Why on earth would Microsoft even entertain the word podcast? What the clueless Scoble and Colligan did with their posts was create a nonsense coversation full of yapping followers saying how the Zune will suck if it doesn' have podcasting. There is NO WAY Microsoft and it's marketing team are ever going to allow the words podcast or podcasting into their advertising, PR or marketing. [...]

*bleep*casting…

So Microsoft's Zune doesn't have a podcasting feature. I think that sucks. People know it as podcasting so let it be. Because Robert Scoble thinks this sucks as well doesn't make him  clueless. This makes a whole lot of sense. Gettin…
