Does Zune Matter? Microsoft Already Has a Portable Wifi Enabled Media Player That Can Download Media Files Without Tethering to a Computer

The Microsoft Windows Mobile Devices have been playing media files for some time now. Many include Wifi (and Bluetooth and Evdo and others …). Free software for them enable the playing of Divx, Mpeg4, Orb, and anything else you might want to throw at it.

The Pocket Podcasts product is in Beta 2, very solid, and looks to do more, now, than Zune might do for some time.

In short: more features, cheaper, better software, available now, has Podcasting functionality.

Doesn't support Plays for Sure - but we don't know if Zune will either.
