Microsoft Zune's Secret Sauce

Bach is the President of their "Entertainment and Devices" division. That grouping makes about as much sense as Apple's "Marketing and Management" Podcast category, but that's another posting all together.

Microsoft has a hard time with community - their own community. Microsoft Java anyone? How about Windows Mobile devices that ship with Outlook 2002? Do I dare mention the, obviously other, building that holds the "Plays for Sure" team? i gotta wonder how they feel about this.

"PlaysforSure continues as it is today," he said. In fact, the Zune team "will work with the same (PlaysforSure) interfaces," Bach said.

So, community is similar interfaces? Huh?

And, by the way, want Windows Mobile to do better? Stop making it an entertainment device.
